As a consultant, author, and speaker, Dr. Mott has assisted many organizations. These include numerous independent schools, colleges, museums, libraries, churches, and nonprofit organizations with governance, fundraising, marketing, and management issues. Dr. Mott experience and expertise includes all aspects of board development and governance issues and challenges.
Dr. Mott has conducted numerous capital campaigns, successfully enhancing many annual fund and membership programs. Even����during an economic downturn, organizations have turned to Dr. Mott to achieve double-digit increases in annual giving.
Dr. Mott’s focus is on governance issues, specifically the connection between nonprofit boards and their organizations’ senior leadership. Working with boards to deepen their relationship with the whole organization is central to his efforts. His book, The Board Game, in conjunction with his blog and workshops, reflects this concentration. He has recently completed a new book, Super Boards: How Inspired Governance Transforms Your Organization. It was released in March, 2014. He is also a faculty member of the Peabody Leadership Institute for Independent Schools.
Your organization will benefit from Dr. Mott’s vast experience. He has served as a director of development for a major university, executive director of a museum house, president of a college, head (president) of two independent schools, and for 11 years served as president of his own consulting firm.
Dr. Mott holds a Ph.D. in educational leadership from Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College. Peabody is noteworthy as the leading college of education in the country, according to US News & World Report, for the last several years. He holds a B.A. from the University of Mississippi.
Dr. Mott and his wonderful wife, Courtney, have been married for over 34 years. They are the proud parents of Courtney Leigh, Robert, and his wife Lauren.
