Travel & Events

A fundamental component of my work is traveling to schools and conference events (associations and other independent school organizations) to share with them ways in which they can improve. I am pleased to share with you some of the schools and school associations I have had the honor to work with. Every school and school association that I engage is an opportunity to help school boards and heads of schools realize their potential by adopting a best practices approach to independent and faith-based school governance. Recognizing the value and importance of working together for what is best for the school is at the core of what I teach and how I conduct every board retreat and governance workshop.

Many thanks to Dr. Matt Thomas, Executive Director of Baylor University’s Center for Christian Education, for the opportunity to present at the recent Campus Learning Community conference for Christian School heads and board chairs. A wonderful group of school leaders excited about their future and anxious to learn about best practices. Also, very glad to meet fellow Vanderbilt alum Dr. Jon Eckert. He (pictured left) and Matt have amazing plans for impacting K-12 Christian schools.

Montgomery, AL

St. James School in Montgomery, AL recently invited me to facilitate their board retreat. Special thanks to board chair Barry Prim and head of school Dr. Larry McLemore. St. James is an excellent school with an engaged board and committed leadership team. Their future is bright.

Visitation Academy

St. Louis, MO

Great day recently with the leadership of Visitation Academy in St. Louis. Reconnected with my friend and fellow head of school David Colon. Had an opportunity to meet with his leadership team and later conduct a training session with the board of trustees. Excellent school with a bright future.
